Santa Barbara Hillel hosted its annual Israel Peace Week May 10-13 featuring a wide variety of programming. We started the week with an emotional Yom Ha’Zikaron Ceremony planned entirely by our student leaders. It was a powerful memorial service featuring soldiers’ stories, memorial songs, and student participation. We quickly transitioned to a vibrant celebration in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut. Santa Barbara Hillel hosted a 68th birthday blow out bash for Israel featuring bounce houses, sumo wrestling, jousting, birthday cake, and much more. We continued our festivities at a Yom Ha’atzmaut on campus event which included Israeli games, spray painted t-shirts, Israeli food, and plenty of Israeli pride. Our week concluded with an Israeli Shabbat dinner fully catered by a local Santa Barbara Israeli catering company. We are incredibly proud of our leadership board, staff, and students for all of their dedication and passion for our Israel work. Click here
