We are back from another fantastic 10 day trip to Israel! We started off in the north of Israel by the beautiful Sea of Galilee where we took an adventurous jeep tour through the historical Golan Heights, saw the Syrian border from the top of Mt. Bental, and walked on the stones of Tzvat, the city where Kabbalah – Jewish mysticism was born. We then sang and danced as we arrived in Jerusalem. What a magical moment to share in singing the Shehechiyanu as a group! Being able to spend Shabbat in Jerusalem with our new Israeli friends was incredible, especially because it was pouring outside. Next we traveled south to the Negev, the desert, where we camped out and learned about the lives of the Bedouin people, road some camels, and hiked Masada. No trip to Israel is ever complete without covering ourselves in mud and floating in the Dead Sea!
10 days filled with deep conversations, hiking and swimming, lots of shopping, new friends, and laughing all along the way…that is what Taglit-Birthright Israel is like with SB Hillel!
